Clothes that conceal a postpartum belly

Remember how you felt when you were waiting for post delivery only to realize that you still looked like you were six months pregnant?...well you are not alone...a lot people are extremely concious about thier belly area - be it postpartum or not - A belly is a belly...Fortunately, you dont have to wait until you shed those calories off or exercise your way to JLo or Beyonce's body to be able to dress fashionably... and you most defenitely dont have to hide behind Indian clothes...Hence a post on how to dress to conceal your belly, love handles, etc...

Before I begin, remember your hair and makeup are both accessories...it is very important to keep your hair well groomed  - only then will you look put - together...

So here goes:

The Ruched top:

Ruching at the waistline is a great way to conceal a belly and shrinks your waist.

The Cowl-necked ruched top:

Tops like these draw attention to your neckline and the layers work nicely to conceal the belly

High - waisted Jeans:

Please stay away from low rise jeans...high waisted jeans not only look sexy but also help tuck that tummy in and make your top look flattering on you.

An Empire waisted top:

This top will definitely be your best friend and hide everything thats unnecessary;-)

The baloon top:

Not sure if thats how its called...but sure does do the trick ..

Now if you wanna show off your legs, nothing like a tulip skirt and a tailored blazer...this skirt works wonder in concealing the entire bulge and creates the illusion of a tiny waist...A structured blazer is a versatile piece that instantly nips and tuck everything into place.

For everything else there is the wicked spanx. Hope you found this post useful  :-))))

You are a unique and beautiful person

I love fashion, makeup and everything in-between..I love, even more, celebrity fashion, following trends, looking up youtube, blogs, etc for recommendations on makeup, reviews on colors, etc...But you know what? I just realized that they are just that - RECOMMENDATIONS...Nobody can guarantee you that a particular lipstick will look great on you..because your skin tone, the shape of your lips, etc is unique...When Kim Kardashian said that her favorite lip combo was MAC's Angel lipstick and NARS Turkish delight lipgloss - everybody ran to get their hands on the colors. Agreed - they are gorgeous colors, but do they look great on you? I started asking myself this question every time I felt compelled to buy something based on how it looked on somebody else..same goes for clothes...choose clothes that look great on your body type...only then will you feel confident..otherwise you will be wondering - is the dress too tight, too short, too big? etc and you will never have a good time...Sometimes these clothes and makeup may look good on you, but may not necessarily look the  BEST on you...so try to judge yourself honestly to get best results...

Splurge or Save?

When it comes to makeup, there are just so many options out there...some of us are on a budget....some of us are not...well for those of you on a budget, I decided to do a post classifying makeup products based on whether you need to invest in high end brands or enjoy interestingly priced options..

*I use the term "drugstore" to refer to lower priced brands simply because it is more widely known that way though it might not make too much sense in Dubai.

so here it goes..

1.Face and eye makeup primer:
Since this determines the staying power of your entire makeup...I would definitely suggest going in for high end brands:

Favourites: Smashbox photofinish & Makeup forever HD primer for face ( both available in Galerie   Lafayette )
Urban Decay primer potion and Too Faced shadow insurance for eyes ( available in Sephora )

2.Foundation:
A lot of interesting options out there: Rimmel, Revlon Colorstay, Maybelline, etc ( go straight to Centerpoint Lifestyle )

3. Concealer:
Depending on how much concealing you need, I would go with high end if you need heavy coverage and drugstore if you don't. Makeup Forever makes some of the best concealers.

4. Bronzer:
Prestige cosmetics make beautiful bronzers...if you don't mind spending more money, a lot of high end brands are also good

5.Blush:
You can definitely save here..a lot of beautiful colors by NYX, Rimmel, etc..

7.Highlight:
I would definitely invest here.

6.Eyeshadows:
Since you have laid the foundation using a heavy duty pimer, you can use pretty much any eyeshadow...NYX has a huge range...

7.Eyeliner:
Fantastic drugstore options out there.

8.Mascara:
I haven't tried too many drugstore alternatives except L'oreal...which is fantastsic.

9.Lipliner:
It might be a good idea to invest in one high end lipliner...like a neutral muted pink brown to go with all your lipsticks...mainly because of the staying power ..

You can check out drugstore options if you are not in need of too much definition.

10.Lipstick and Lipgloss:
Lots and lots of amazing drugstore lip products out there..

Skinny vs Curvy ????

I decided to do a post on this topic cos everyone seems to be very easily talking about how wonderful it feels to be curvy and how men don't dig lean and thin women or its the other way around where being fit is sexy and curvy women are just excuses for women who love to eat...and usually I just find myself getting caught up with all this and I was like "What really is sexy??? I mean.. do u have to be curvy like Kim Kardashian, Kelly Brooke, Christina Hendricks??? or fit like Rihanna, Jessica Biel, Cameron Diaz???"
The thing is ...I'm sure you have heard a lot of people say it before...but really.. I think you really should know how you look good...I mean if you are curvy in the right places without piling on weight in the wrong places...yeah sure..you can pull off looking curvy...but if you have a body that tends to pile on weight on the belly area...then you really have to think if you have the confidence to carry yourself well with that body...So here it is...if you feel that the way your weight is distributed across your body does not make you feel good..then you are the best judge ...go for it...work your way to a leaner body...anything that will make you feel confident ...cos really..."Confidence is the sexiest thing a girl can wear"...

A note of advise here: Just because you have not yet arrived at your target body shape ...surely should be no reason for you to not dress up well...remember the key thing is to always feel good about yourself...so go out and get yourself clothes that conceal problem areas and highlight your best features...keep your hair well groomed and voila...you will always feel good about yourself...wow..that was a long post.!!!

Bling pink

Advise : Tuck in your shirt and add a belt.
